Professor Lisa Whitehead, PhD, FACN
Lisa is a professor of nursing research at Edith Cowan University and holds the roles of Associate Dean (Research) in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Director of the Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Services Research at Edith Cowan University, and is an Honorary Professor of Research at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Lisa has over 30 years’ experience of working in health, academia and clinical practice. A research leader, Lisa is in the top 2% of researchers worldwide in the subdiscipline of nursing, rehabilitation, public health and health services for research publication citations. Lisa has published over 200 research articles and attracted over $6 million in research grant funding from a range of funding bodies in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. Lisa’s areas of research are improving health outcomes for people living with chronic conditions, self-management interventions and working with families to support the management of chronic conditions. Engagement with clinicians and conducting research in real world settings underpin all of her research activities to support the implementation of evidence based change in practice.
