Professor Lisa McKenna RN PhD FACN
Professor Lisa McKenna RN PhD FACN

Lisa is Professor and Head, School of Nursing and Midwifery, at La Trobe University. She holds postgraduate qualifications in nursing, education, health administration and history. Lisa has researched and published extensively in nursing, midwifery and the health professions, in particular around the areas of professional role attribute development, primary health care and education. She has vast expertise in a range of research methodologies both quantitative and qualitative, including phenomenology, action research, grounded theory, discourse analysis, systematic review along with historical research and mixed methods.

Lisa has over 160 publications in national and international refereed journals and many conference presentations as well as seven successful textbooks. In 2012, she received an Australian Educational Publishing Awards for Best Tertiary (Adaptations) Teaching and Learning Resource for her textbook Pharmacology for Nursing and Midwifery. In 2012, she was awarded the Monash University Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Programs that Enhance Learning for work into peer teaching and learning.
